Project Summer tells the story of Miles Otembe, a young mercenary who returns home from bloody warfare where he lost the woman he loves, to find his country at war with a different kind of enemy. A viral pandemic, where the country has gone into complete lockdown.

Grieving the loss of his love in isolation and unable to bury her body, we follow his downward spiral into chaos as other powers deem to erase his memory of a past turning him back into a killing machine for the next campaign. Will he falter his memories and become a weapon yet again or will true love conquer the machine?

Project Summer glistens in 80’s reminiscence under a dystopian veil with a kick ass soundtrack which plays homage to 80’s John Carpenter esque synth sounds and beautiful dark film grain visuals.

Originally titled ‘To Bury The Dead During The Summer Of 2020’, The ‘Poject Summer’ idea came about during February 2021 after Director, Writer Andre Harrison lost funding for a feature film he wrote and was set to direct called ‘Maddison’, in January 2021. Fueled to continue to create during lockdown he penned the script in February and funded the project himself on a budget of £3,000. Luckily, having the camera equipment and knowledge of how to use it, he wrote a story around what would cater for his circumstances and by the end of February he sent the script to actors he had worked with before and it was cast.

Adhering to the covid guidelines at the time he kept the crew to a minimum. A one man, one cam approach (himself) and a makeup artist and production officially began on 24th April 2021. The film wrapped in July 2021 shooting three to four days a month to keep in line with everyone's schedules that luckily got bigger as restrictions eased and Andre began the post production in October 2021, concluding in February 2022.

Project Summer was officially released to festivals in September 2022 just ahead of it’s sold out film premiere in London’s Shoreditch, October 2022.
